Interview with Liana Tasno

adiNation of Runners Indonesia (aNR) & Run Fairy Run jointly present an Interview with Liana Tasno. Liana is one of the four moms in aNR selected for The Running Moms campaign to spread inspiration to women – specifically mothers – to pick up running. Here is a short interview with the busy young mommy.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a lecturer at Tarumanagara University, majoring in business studies. I’m going to continue my studies this year in a PhD program. I have a pair of twins, a boy and a girl, they are 2 years old.

What made you get into running and how long have you been doing it?
When I was pregnant, I gained a whopping 27kg! I was thinking how to get my weight back to normal so I bought the miCoach running band and started running. I’ve been running for 2 years and a half now and my weight has returned to my pre-pregnancy weight (almost). 🙂

Have you joined any races? If yes, what was your proudest achievement or your favorite race?
I’ve participated in some races, my favourite race one was definitely adidas King of the Road race in Jakarta.

What do you enjoy most about running?
I love the achievement and the endorphins that kick in after running.

How do you juggle running with being a mother/wife?
I find that it is hard to manage my time because running is a very time-consuming activity. But when there’s a will, there is a certainly a way.

Do you have any words of advice to other moms on why they should consider taking up running?
Running is effective in revving up your metabolism, which helps you burn more calories and control your weight. Ultimately, running also makes you feel good!

And that concludes the interview series on the aNR Running Moms. Hope you’ve enjoyed reading about Mia, Novi, Juanita and Liana! If you’ve missed the previous interviews, please feel free to check them out!

Hi! I am Fairy from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia - currently residing in Sydney, Australia. This blog contains write-ups on my fitness adventures, whether it's running, swimming, hiking, Zumba, whatever! If I sweat, I write! As a young adult in my twenties, I led a relatively sedentary lifestyle before I had an awakening in 2011. I was overweight by age 30 and finally decided to turn my life around, so I started to reclaim my health back by losing 20 percent of my then body weight by playing dance and fitness video games! I've not looked back since and now happily lead an active lifestyle. If you want to get in touch with me, please email me at fairy[at] or DM me on Instagram @myindo. Thanks for stopping by!
